Hey i want to try and add a Humbucker to my Standard MIM Tele
Sure would like to hear some of you chime in as to what has worked best for you.
Pots, Pickups, capacitors etc......

I'm using it as my Classic Rock guitar.
The original Ceramic MIM bridge pickup is still there (for now) !

Suggestions ?

I know its been discussed before, but a search here didn't get very much info, so I thought I would see what the regular Fender guys and gals had on this.

Impatient, aren't we?

Your question really is rather generic.

Please disclose whether you are considering a full sized HB, a stacked one, etc, and what output range you want. As Classic Rock covers a LOT of ground, be more specific about what vein in particular. Most importantly, what do you like and dislike about your existing neck pickup and what you wish to accomplish with it's replacement?

Why not transforming your guitar into an early Tele Plus?

Put a humbucking Red Sensor Dually in the bridge and a Blue Sensor single in the neck!

No not impatient, not at all.
Why is it guitar players are so snarly when asked about things that should be their passion ?
ah its the egos

Any way, Looking for the Kieth Richards, Albert Collins etc...... sounds that's plural not singular by the way, many sounds.

Believe me when I say, I've tried several Gibsons as to add a humbucker guitar for all of it's Sounds and non fit my hand and so the reason is I got this nice Tele on the cheap and want to add a new set of sounds to my arsenal.

Full size humbucker in the neck and retain (if possible) the sinlgle coil in the bridge.
I am sure I'll eventually get rid of the cheap ceramic thats in there now.

Have you lifted your scratchplate and taken a look?

Just think of how awesome a guitar player you could have been by now if you had only spent the last 10 years practicing instead of obsessing over pickups and roasted maple necks.

Please specify: you need a humbucker for the bridge or the neck?

From my understanding you want to transform your guitar into a Telecaster SH (Fat Tele).

With a standard 3-way or a "super" 5-way switch?

So you need a chrome-covered humbucker with coil-tap/split abilities.

The super 5-way selector does the trick, but if you add the S1 system or a push-pull volume switch your tonal palette will grow significantly.

Still looking for the single coil that can tango with the PAF wannabee I'm putting in the neck
Humbucker and aged white guard are to be here tomorrow, gotta head over to the local fender mom & Pop store and get a five way and a good solid shaft 500K, i have a Gibson short shaft still in the package but its a splined split shaft.

I have a drawer full of nos caps too, some nice old .02uf 600 volt molded spragues

I just finished a 1980's Laney six knob Pro Tube 100 watt head, that a buddy had in a closet for the last fifteen years, it sounds too cool for classic rock'n, this tele should make it scream !
