Jus purchased a new 1972 Telecaster Deluxe in Walnut. The headstock is the large strat style and has the bullet truss rod and the string guides are all consistent with the models I've seen on the Fender site. One difference is that the Logo says "Fender Stratocaster" and not "Telecaster Deluxe". The neck is the same as supplied on other 1972 Deluxes except for the logo. Could it just be a mistake? I love the neck and have no problem keeping it. Just Curious.

Sanchezj...welcome to the forum. Great bunch of folks here and sounds like you got a nice new guitar. But we do have one rule here, pics or it didn't happen. I am sure mistakes do happen, but the wrong headstock decal (and name) would certainly be rare.

Post those pics, we would love to check it out.

If you bought it new I would return it. One day you'll try to sell it and you'll be stuck with people saying it's a part guitar.

Of course. Apologies for not posting a pic. I forgot to mention the tuners are also the same as those on the Telecaster Deluxe pictures on the fender site. Only the logo is different. Will probably keep it even if it causes resale problems down the line. If the mistake is rare that much cooler.
