What Are the main Differences between a American Vintage and Classic Series fender. Why is there such a price difference. Im wanting to buy a classic series fender but i'm not sure if it's good quality.

Also, Are the 52' u necks fat or thick?

thanks in advance

American Vintage are made in USA, Classic series are MIM.
Over the years the USA and MIM models have got closer; looks like the same Strat bridges on each now and I understand that bodies and necks are shaped in the same place. I suspect the the better-looking grains end up at the Corona plant, the rest going to Ensenada.
In any case, both ranges are very good, with perhaps the USA pickups having the edge in sound.

Which models are you talking about? American Vintage, and Classic are both series so there are many guitars that fall under each category. If you know what specifically (example: AV62RI vs. Baja) then you can actually check the specs under each of the products and compare the differences. Keep in mind the unlisted difference of Classics coming from Mexico and American Vintage from America (if that makes a difference to you).
