Hi there!
So I'm really warned, why do used Mexican Road Worn Telecasters cost more than used American Special and even sometimes Standard Teles?
Thanks for your further answers :-)
P.S. Sorry, I didn't use search

I have a blonde RW Tele and it is a fantastic guitar. It's light and feels broken in, like stone washed jeans. I generally believe Custom Shops are the best, then American Vintage, American Standard then Mexico, but my RW Tele is the exception to the rule!

I put in a nocaster neck pickup and a seymour duncan lil 59 in the bridge. It set up with 10s and only 5 strings like Keith Richards and it's a monster guitar.

I have many custom shops including a Danny Gatton and a Nocaster, but wow my RW Tele plays just as nice as either of them, even the neck it fairly fat (but not as fat as the gatton and nocaster. I LOVE the baseball bat neck)

A used one should go for 600 to 700, that's what I've seen on Los Angeles Craigslist. I'm not a huge fan of American Standard (I like American Vintage) so for me, I'd go with the RW but you should try them out because I know some RW strats had QC issues.

I should also answer why the RW tele costs more, Fender put significant upgrades on the instrument

1. Nitro cellulose coating on the body

2. stock pups are Amercican Texas Specials

3. Additional cost to relic although all of the relicing for each model is the same.

4. I think the frets, bridge and saddles are of higher quality.

5. for the Blonde it's an Ash body

It reminds me of the Jimmy Vaughn strat. Mostly American parts shipped to Mexico for assembly at a lower cost.
