Just traded a 62 Jazzmaster for the 62 Wildwood Ltd. Ed. Tele in Lake Placid Blue.

Just never bonded with either the Jaguar or the Jazzmaster. Too many knobs and switches. I like it clean and simple.

Although I have a 52, Danny Gatton, Nocaster and a Road Worn blonde I've never had a tele with rosewood board. Also this tele is not double bound.

I'm not sure if this was stock but the former owner but on a 3 ply mint green pickguard (also got the original 1 ply white) and although the bridge has 3 steel barrel saddles they are compensated.

Also came with 10 gauge strings.

I'm really getting to like this tele.

Anyone else have one or have an opinion?

I guess the regular AVRI 62 Teles have been discontinued.

Yep, the regular AV '62 Custom Teles were discontinued last summer when the new AV series came out - the rosewood board model of the new series is the AV '64 and it is available in LPB.

Wildwood has done a lot of various LE models over the years; I do recall that the Thin Skin '62 came with the two pickguards and CS pickups but I don't remember which set came on it. A lot of the Wildwood LEs also have modified neck shapes (usually thicker than the regular AV models and often with modern radius and larger frets) but you probably already knew that. Unfortunately these aren't on Wildwood's site any more to look up the specs so I can't be of much help; I did read about them when they came out but I don't remember the details.
