Hello,

I just purchased my first Tele, and I'm super stoked to join the family! Been a Les Paul guy for years and was recently converted after using the Tele at a couple of different studios. Anyway, I found this beaut used at Sam Ash and got a pretty awesome deal on it! It's a 1999, Made in the USA. However, the guy couldn't tell me the exact model series. I was hoping someone here would be able to tell just by looking at the pic?

Any other info on this guitar is welcome! Is it a good buy? Good guitar?

Thanks for indulging me in what I know is a stupid question, but I am just such a newbie with Fenders.

This Tele has a DiMarzio Chopper rail humbucker in the bridge position.

For a total newbie, what does it add and how much do they cost? Thanks again!

DiMarzio rail humbuckers for Teles go for about $70 new (at least at Musicians' Friend). In all honesty the changed pickup doesn't add to the value of the guitar used, and to some people a changed pickup (unless the original is also included) detracts from the value of the stock guitar.

Tone-wise - I can't help you there; I've never played a Tele with one of these pickups in it. There are 4 different Dimarzio rail-type pickups for the Tele; this one could be a Chopper (which seems to be the most popular version) or it could be one of the others - you could pull the pickup and check out the model number on DiMarizo's site to see which one you have.

We love seeing and hearing your baby in action.

Post a couple of videos or a few sound samples, if possible. :P

PS. Since the bridge pickup is splittable/tappable drop in a push-pull master volume pot for versatility sake.

To know how good it is you don't need our advice, just plug in and play :-) Enjoy.
