Hello,

First, let me say I'm a complete newbie to building so sorry if the answer is an obvious one. I did look online before I came here.

I'm building a partscaster, 72 Deluxe. Got all the parts today, pickguard, pots, pickups ... I noticed there isn't an extra wire to hook up the toggle switch. Anyone know where I can get the same 3 conductor wire? Looking to keep it looking like an original.

Thank in advance for any help that some of you can offer.

MJ

You need the 2 conductors shielded wire . That is the name. Shield is not counting as a conductor

Where find it ? And in very small lengt ? Guitar repair shop ? Gibson use that IMO

Always useful to include picture or diagram with any question.

Thanks for the info ... Much appreciated. I've been going nuts trying to find it online, guess i'll go to guitar center and ask if they sell it.

Or you use two separate one conductor shielded wire. Like any audio cable easy to find enywhere.
The cable used to plug CD disc player to your home HiFi sound system.

But your guitar won't have a look of a single wire....under the pickgard.

Again, thanks for the information ... It is much appreciated.

I found a harness on the mylespaul forum and I think I'm just going to go with the cloth wire I have and not worry about it.

Let me ask you a silly question ... From what I have seen with the Fender wired pickguards they look like a hot spaghetti mess. Any reason why I shouldn't cut the wire from the pickup to the pots a little shorter? I know I want some extra to have in case of work being done in the future, but three feet of wire to go three inches.
