I'm going to go with Hot Dog. I read somewhere that he used a B-Bender. Not sure if that's true, though.

"How Many More Times" from the first Zep album. It's one of my favorite Zeppelin tunes. There was a thread recently that dealt with favorite guitar riffs. I didn't think of this one at the time, but it would be a great choice.

Good Times Bad Times. The first (chronological) Led Zeppelin track.

He used a Tele through a Supro amp with 1 12" speaker exclusively for the whole Led Zepplin 1 album and didn't really start using a Les Paul until Led Zepplin 2. On the song How Many More Times he ran the Tele through a Leslie without the rotation on. Also the Tele is heard through the Leslie on the solo to Good Times Bad Times. Then when Led Zepplin 2 came out he had switched to a Les Paul and a Marshall. The Tele is once heard again on Rock and Roll and the guitar solo to Stairway To Heaven but the other rythym parts were done on his double neck Gibson SG.

:o You all missed it! "I Can't Quit You Babe" has the sweetest, richest blues tone. It hurts just to listen to it.

Basically It was all Tele including Joe Walsh who had also used a Tele on the first 3 albums through a tweed pre-CBS tweed champ amp to get all that dirt. The smaller the amp's speakers diaghpams would move more consistently, meaning in and out giving you that gritty distortion while the bigger boxes with the 12s and 15s would move less proving that the little Champ Tweed amp that Walsh has or the Supro would shake more and give you more of a really rattled distortion that the bigger boxes. Now let's not forget that Toni Iommi of Black Sabbath has used a Stratocaster on Black Sabbath's first album on the song Wicked World! A great jazz type tune!

Heaviest riff guy in the world had used the Strat to do the song Wicked World on the first Black Sabbath album. First song on side 2 to get the jazzy metal & haunting effect. Excellent guitarist!
