i am new to this forumn and am currently in the process selling my 56/57 gretsch duojet.

my question is , can any one give me the pros and cons on the 72 thinline using 8/42 strings.

I'm assuming you're referring to the humbucker model, they made single coil ones in '72 also, but anyway, they're lighter and the sound is unique, not as twangy as a single coil tele but not as muddy as a Gibson, and they look cool as hell!
I'm runnin 9/42's, no complaints!
