Just wondering if anyone has played or purchased of these guitars? I have not seen one of these yet at my local guitar store.

Hi.

I tried both the '52 and the '64. Both look, feel and sound great.

I love the chunky U-shaped neck on the '52, and the mid-sixties C-shaped neck on the '64 is also chunkier than the typical modern C-shaped neck. If you don't like the thicker necks, these guitars are not for you

I can't, however, get used to the 7.25" fretboard radius.

I bought the 64 tele in white blonde which has the ash body. My tech set it up so well I have never owned a guitar that is so fast or easy to play than this guitar. The pickups in this guitar are really good. I would not replace them for any pickups. It is just too good to believe. I think this is the best fender I have ever owned. I have bought a lot of them too.

Here is a pic of it.

I was originally going to get the LPB one as it is discounted as it is discontinued. It was marked down but really I have always loved ash bodied tele's more so I ended up getting the white blonde one even though I had to pay more as it isn't marked down.

I can't figure out why anyone has an issue with a 7.25" radius neck???
...Or vintage frets for that matter....

They both feel great to me, and I played a 12" radius Tele with jumbo frets for years...

The main reason is bending. When you bend a string, the clearing to the next-up fret gets smaller, and more so with a small radius. The closer to the bridge you bend, the more likely you are to have the string hit the fret above it when you bend, and the smaller the radius, the worse the problem becomes. So you need a much higher action on a small radius neck if you bend a lot.

Barre chords is a secondary reason. If you look at classic guitarists, they tend to twist their index finger when doing barres to stiffen it. That works great on a flat fretboard. On a small radius fretboard,it will cause you to press the middle strings harder, and sharp them.
Same problem applies when using a slide on more than two strings.

Also, if you have big hands, a too small radius just makes it harder to play. Especially combined with a thin neck and narrow nut, it becomes really easy for people with small hands, and really hard for people with big hands. With my ham fists, I get way too much clearance under the neck, and have to curl the fingers an uncomfortable amount. And I can't play an open A on my 7 1/4" radius Tele using three fingers, because three fingers won't fit. I have to either use two fingers or do a single finger barre on the 2nd to 4th string. And a cowboy chord B7 (H7 for our Germanic friends) is out of the question.
10-14 compound radius with a fat neck works better for me.

I do prefer vintage frets, though. I don't press hard, so jumbo frets hold no benefit for me - they just make the top fret gaps too narrow to fit my bratwurst fingers.
I can see jumbo frets wearing down slower, and thus helping with bends when worn, but if the frets are in good condition, and you're also not one of those who press the string down hard enough to sharp the tone, I don't see the purpose.
Some like the feel, though, and it's hard to argue against that.
