The one's i've played are. I've been told that the Japanese Fenders are basically comprable to US made. They're used to market highend to asia (and possible europe idk). Anyways, over here, obviously they'll cost a little less than American models because fender can mark up american as being superior. I personally don't see this as the case so if you're lookin at a japanese model and the only thing holding you back is wondering if the quality is inferior, i say go for it!

Ya they're great guitars for the price and they're MIA-like quality, I also say go for it.

imo, japanese fenders (and japanese guitars in general) have better craftsmanship (aka construction, finish, etc) but american has better hardware and electronics

but that's just my opinion :)

(so get a mij and put american electronics on it :O)
