Hello everybody!!! :)

I have a question about the Thinline '72 reissue (made in Mexico) that I tried in a store last week.

The neck was very very comfortable and smooth to my hands.

So I Googled the model to find out what kind of neck it was to find out other Fenders with the same neck.

Well... the overview page says "C neck" while the specs page says "U neck"
http://www.fender.com/it-IT/products/cl ... r-thinline
(excuse me, as being located in Italy the site automatically re-directs me to the italian site)

- Can anyone tell me what the neck shape is exactly?
C? Large C? U?
...Widths?

- Also, can anyone confirm that that neck is not glossed/laquered at all with anything? That seemed so to me.

Thank you all very much :)

We should know the year of the tele Thinline you try in store. Serial number ; ?

IMO Fender could change neck specs with year maybe.

You want to buy it or not ? If yes and you like it and you are comfotable with , you don't need to know the spec.

I understand you wish to learn more about it.

Though I didn't like the sound a lot, that neck fit my hand extremely well and was extremely "fast".

So I would like to know exactly what kind of neck that is, in order to find other guitars with the same neck, (such as a strat?) or why not get one built by a luthier.

I remember it was of quilted maple if I am correct, if it helps. And I distincly remember it was really wide at the nut, wider than my Gibson NightHawk, wider than my acoustic, nearly as wide as my nylon-stringed Spanish.

I see if I can get there and give you a serial number by today.

Thanks a lot.

It's probably got vintage frets aswell if it's like my 72 custom, which also has a big glossy neck. Noticeably smaller than 'average sized frets, something to consider. Of all my guitars that neck is my favourite, love the chunkiness.

Well, I that frets did not feel that small to me. Lots of room between the strings...
