I think Fender should offer more of its guitars with NO pickguard. Or at least the American Standard series. Should be able to get a black one with no pickguard. That would be sweet. I know I can take it off, but the holes would be there. I'm talking about having a "no pickguard" option on most or all of their guitars.

I want a black tele w/ rosewood fingerboard and no pickguard.

Something like this?

It is also an option to put a black pickguard on a black tele . Not quite the same , but i think the effect is nice. I love my Roger Waters P-bass - it's got a single ply black pick guard

This new limited-edition signature model does not have abalone dot inlays on the fretboard.

I've never heard in real life how tele's sound with/without pickguard. On Youtube it's almost the same sound but has anybody heard that in real life?
