Why Fender don't produce them? It would be the nicest Christmas present! I don't want to put a humbucker in the bridge on AVRI tele Custom, i want a big headstock Deluxe made in US!
Fender! Make a good to the universe!

That's likely not going to happen now; I believe all of the 70s-style AVs were discontinued when the new American Vintage models came out back in August. As far as I can tell the AV '69 Tele Thinline, AV '72 Tele Thinline and the AV '72 Tele Custom have all been dropped from the Fender website but of course there are still some out there in stores.

I think everybody was so focused on the revised '52, the new '58, and the new '64 taking the place of the old '62 model that no one noticed the other models were also gone.

That's really disappointing. I didn't think that they would discontinue the '72 already. Wish they could do something for the fans of the '72 Custom, Deluxe and Thinline. The current MIM isn't very interesting to me.

I was also surprised to see them come and go so quickly; I was seriously considering one of the AV '72 Tele Customs last summer but fell for the Select Tele instead.

I suppose it's also possible that Fender is just putting the 70s models on hiatus and will quietly bring them back after the intro period for the new "Pure Vintage" AVs is over.

Hmm - when you click on "American Vintage" link on the side navigation it takes you to the "mini-site" page for the new one models and it does not bring up the 70s-style models. I'll admit I didn't scroll through all the models the last time I was on the site so I assumed they were gone when they didn't come up with the new models.

I'm afraid that Fender is going to make these like the Highway 1s - no official notice that they are discontinued but they will wind up being quitely discontinued.
