Yep, I like the ash ones. :D When the finish is light and it starts to fade or even disappear...nice! 8)

I have guitars with alder, ash, basswood, and mahogany with maple caps. The mahogany maple capped Les Paul is definitely the heaviest and has a full heavy sound. The basswood is lightest and has brightest sound. The ash is between the alder and basswood in terms of brightness. The alder is heavier than the basswood and has a much more full heavy sound.

But of course the sound has a lot more to do with the pups than the body wood.
