I've a natural, gunstock oil finished ash tele, with a maple fingerboard, black binding on the body, and all chrome hardware. At the mo it has a single ply black pickguard. A mate reckons it would look better with a white/parchment guard - more 50s apparently. I'm toying with the idea.

Does anyone have a view either way? Pictures would be great too if anyone has any and doesn't mind sharing!

I agree with your friend... Parchment or Antique White would look better than Black. Shows off the guitar more.

cheers!
