OK anybody...I just tried swapping out the black pick guard on my Am Del Tele with N3 pups. Now my neck pup went out. I’ve checked everything. Sometimes it cracks a bit, but nothing. And now i have a grounding buzz on top of everything else. Nothing is disconnected anywhere. Tele was noiseless and beautiful for a year until last month. I bought it new from Guitar Center .com. It is one of the first American Deluxe Teles with N3 pups. Trans red Ash. This is a drag. I think the pickup is bad or shorted. When I press on one end of the neck pick up it signal comes in and out. It’s the end that has a thin copper ground going from the red pickup base to the just under chrome cover. Anybody have an idea about what’s happening. I’m getting ready to buy a new N3 neck pup.

Like the saying goes: "You broke it, you bought it."

If you did indeed damage the pickup (and it sounds like you did), your only real option is to replace it. Repairing a pickup can be done depending on where the break is, but that does not sound like something you should attempt. I suggest you take the guitar to a good tech or luthier and let them check everything over and replace the pickup if necessary.
