I have a Blacktop telecaster that I installed Seymour Duncan humbuckers in and I was wondering if upgrading the tone and volume pot would be worth it. The volume knob seems to affect the tone when turned down slightly and I like to use my volume knob on stage to control overdrive but I don't like the fact that it alters my tone (makes it darker). If I do replace the pots which pots would be good to get?

A humbucker like 500 K pot . Original pot on Telecaster is 250 K , this cut high frequency. Humbecker don't have enoug high frequency so put a 500K.

I hope this help you.

I would also consider linear rather than audio taper pots. 500k Fender pots are a good choice as they are made by CTS and last a good long time.

I won't use linear pot for volume neither tone. These give almost full volume if not shut off. Audio taper work smooth all the way.
No good guitar use linear pot.

I think you may have it backwards but in case I'm wrong, use the ones sold by Fender. You'll be right every time!

Fender and all good guitar's builders always use audio pot , never linear pot.

I've been buying the Fender stuff for a little while now so I haven't had to give it any thought. They always work right the first time so...
