Hey guys,

I have a Squire Telecaster Thinline and it's neck is warped. I was looking at replacing it, as it's my first guitar. I was hoping I could put a quality Fender neck on it. Is this at all possible? Also, what kind of costs would be incurred?

Thanks!

Fender-Squier parts compatibility is not always easy. It oftentimes requires some extra work to get things to work. If your guitar is still new and under warranty, I'd go that route. If you want a Fender neck, then you'll need to find one that is compatible with the depth of the neck pocket of the Squier, or be prepared to mod it to be compatible. Also the holes for the neck screws amy not line up, and you may need to do some modding there. Then you'll need to find a neck that is about the same width as the Squier, and has about the same spacing on the nut as the Squier too.

You could pick up a used squire neck on e-bay. If you are looking at something else I would recommend you get one that has not been drilled for neck screws and drill your own. I have 2 necks and the holes are slightly different even though they have they same neck plate. I you do get a used neck consider plugging the original holes with wood dowels and glue then drill to match your body.
