I own the Fender Vintage Noiseless pickups in my latest Telecaster and they are amazing. The only other pups I had were the standard ones that came in the first Tele I ever owned (2007 American Series Telecaster). I was wondering what the main differences were in sound (videos can be misleading). I'd much rather ask people who have them. I try not to go to guitar center in fear of getting GAS lol. So anyone have any insight/preference on pups?

I've heard and played my fair share of Teles in 'the days that were'...can't recall all those days..lol...however I can recall enough to say that I find the new N3 noiseless pickups superior...my ear likes what they give me and they will give anything I ask without hum.(I do not do hum well...had enough of that in my day). I find much more versatility with them at any given time for whatever I am playing...I could have swapped them out of my '12 Deluxe but have chosen to stay with them and grow with them...it's such a subjective thing, this sound issue, isn't it? I didn't know whether or not or if I'd like the new N3 Noiseless pickups before my Tele arrived but...won't change them out now if that is any kind of help for you...

Of course it helps any input helps :) I've played with the N3 pups before on the American Deluxe Telecasters ,but I never really fiddled with them and it's hard to hear just your sound in a guitar center unless your in that $1,000 and up acoustic room lol. I'm really liking the Noiseless Vintage pickups that I have in Cherry Pie (that's what the old owner called my Tele so I kept the name :D)

It helps, ok...good... I'm still getting comfy being in the lounge here and do not want to waste anybodys time...thanks for the confidence boost....guitar centers intimidate me..that's just me so I research a lot before a buying decision.. and I impulse shop when it comes to guitars as well..I have this GAS thing myself... so it's a quick in and out for me at the guitar center. What I'm saying really is that in the comfort of my home I fiddle like hell for hours...I like the N3 noiseless as I said...the manager of my guitar store center hates them...to each his own. Cherry Pie(gotta love that!) came with pups you find amazing but I can understand your feelings given your first Tele had standards...I'd say I find my N3 pups give me a clearer less muddied sound but can be raunchy too...kind of a 2012 sound to a vintage sound and everything in between...now I hear Fender is coming out with a newer pickup..I'll keep my 2012 Deluxe with the N3's and just have to fall prey to GAS and get another Tele with the new pickups...lol...I think Cherry Pie and your first Tele with the standards will give you great versatility. Enjoy their differences and fiddle like crazy and have fun for years to come!

Well I don't have my first Tele anymore I had to sell it to get a car so I wouldn't lose my job I miss her every day (Melody) :( I had some other cheap guitars I could play in her absence ,but nothing is like a Tele. I bought Cherry Pie to fill the void though I don't think anything will since Melody was my first Tele lol I love Cherry Pie though and I'm gonna keep her :D

That's a sad story in some ways...sometimes you just have to do what you have to do to eat and pay the bills..I sure have and have gained and lost some fine instruments in my day..hang onto Cherry pie and love her...perhaps this is as it was meant to be and she's yours' now for the duration. Good luck bringing her back to health.
