Thanks to you all for your tips, advice and suggestions on cleaning and polishing my Teles...finally here's some pics :!:
First: My '94 or so, (as identified in the Fender Japan 93-94 catalogue "TWANG") T-CAL or T-LAL 100 Telecaster. (I'll save all the spec. details for later if anyone is interested)

What is the body (back) material?

It looks fine!

That sure is a looker - VERY NICE ! Piezo bridge ? Reminding me of the MIJ that Stevie Winwood uses sometimes - if I've not got it wrong, his guitar is strung with nylons!!!

Congrats on the new 2012 , as well :D

Thanks. It's an unusual Telecaster(I think)....kind of a hybrid but I wanted it the moment I saw it and have had no regrets. It plays beautifully and has its' own distinct, yet Tele sound. I have not seen another one but there must be more out there somewhere.

Spruce top. Mahogany back. I think it's 8) but I'm biased

Thanks :!: I do think she's a real beauty...a looker as well...nice to know others think so too...and yes you're right :!: ...piezo sensor in the rosewood saddle/bridge...and U.S made
lace-sensor Burton for the neck.
I did not know Stevie Winwood had a MIJ and I'm really surprised to know he strung his with nylons....I've run this one with nylons for sometime...actually a brand new set of D'Addario's just put on for the photo-op...it just seemed to beg for nylons for a very sweet unique voice. I wasn't disappointed the first time I put the nylons on...hey, that's on the guitar, not me  but oddly everybody told me it just wouldn't work...I figured if Willie Nelson could use nylons on Triggger, they'd work for me too given the f-hole. I don't play country as a rule but it also seemed to me( or, I thought) that Mark Knopfler of Dire Straights also used nylons...well, it worked and sounds great and I'm happy :)

Nice! I usually only like Tele's with 2 pups no matter what they are ,but this single coil Tele looks nice! I wonder what that pup can do :D Please do post specs when you get a chance. How does she handle?

Yes thanks, it is a nice Tele and you're right, not traditional for a Tele in pups...but a Tele on its own terms. She handles very easily and well. She has a distinct voice and tone and surprisingly can have a 'bitety' powerful punch...maybe all due to the 'f-hole'...I've never played a thinline so can't compare the two. The lace sensor Burton silver in the neck and the piezo in the bridge work well together. Perhaps I've become used to its sound but I don't recall being surprised the first time I plugged it in except to say 'wow'. The lace-sensor gives 'twang' and the piezo a 'electric-acoustic' sound.

Mahogany back. Spruce top...and beautifully bound. great craftmanship period. Maple neck, oval profile. 12.5"scale. micro-tilt. rosewood fretboard. 12"radius...similiar I'm told to a '62 RI Tele. I personally love the neck. 22 medium jumbo frets...very nicely dressed. Plays/bends very easily anywhere, no intonation problems. Machine heads-Gotoh. Chrome hardware. Controls and switch: master volume. active piezoTBX. balance. Fender Japan price new in '93-'94..100,000.00 Yen.

That's it I think. Thanks for your nice comments and interest.

This is my latest buy a 2004 American Series Telecaster:

viewtopic.php?f=7&t=76299

I love the American Series necks. Something about them just felt right. I tried playing the New American Standards that took there spot back (it went from being called American Standard to sometime in the early 2000's it became American Series then in like early 2008 it became the American Standard line again weird I know c.c) ,but it seemed to grip my hand as I sweat and I didn't like that and their always seemed to be an unwanted friction. On the American Series necks it was always so easy to slide up and down the neck sweat or not and it was so smooth.

I viewed your topic. Thanks for the link. Your latest buy is a Tele of beauty. A fine buy indeed. i'm pleased that you had so much response and a definitive answer. I would not have been any help but i can say that my MIJ and my new deluxe have beautiful smooth slidable necks as well and just feel right for me in my hands...enjoy your latest buy :)
