Toying with the idea of putting a TBX tone control on my Baja Tele. Anybody tried it? Good idea or bad idea? I would like to hear ya'lls input. I am not dissatified with the guitars tone I just would like to have a little extra tone options on stage. What you guys think? Thanks for your help!

I have three Fenders with TBX tone controls - they came stock; I didn't add them. They aren't that big of a deal in my opinion. I think you get far more tone variation already with the stock Baja electronics.

You might hear a difference in a recording studio - maybe - but not on stage with a band.

Just my opinion here. It's a cheap mod and might be fun to try if you're handy with a soldering iron, understand guitar wiring, and if you can find a TBX tone pot with a solid shaft to accept a Telecaster knob with a set screw. Yeah, I know you can use a Tele knob with a split shaft, and I've done it, but they felt wobbly to me, and that again is an important consideration if you're using it on stage instead of at home or in the studio.

You can also add the MDX mid boost pot if you want having a little "oomph" under the hood while soloing. The MDX makes the single coils sounding like a humbucker with the twist of a knob.

Since the Broadcaster/Twisted are vintage-style single coils, you'll need an external dummy coil to eliminate the hum - unless you swap the stock pickups for a set of Super 55s or a similar noiseless pickup.

Another easy way to get the tone boost is adding a Seymour Duncan Pickup Booster, you can dial in to the tone your looking for.
