I prefer the case...too long on a stand with rubber/plastic supports can leave a mark after time.

If I'm going to use a floor stand for any amount of time I always put an old t-shirt over it before I put the guitar on it.

I normally store my guitars in their cases. It's not really a hassle to take them back out between playing....

IMHO In the case or on a stand is best. Hanging on the wall is 3rd choice, follwed by leaning on your amp, or tossed on the bed :D

I think for long term storage where you won't be playing your guitar for an extended period of time, a hard case is the best. If you play your guitar regularly, a wall hanger or stand will do fine. If you have little kids or dumb*ss friends though, I would store it in a case. I also prefer stands over the wall hangers because they aren't as permanent, and you have more flexibility, than with a wall hanger.
I also prefer a stand in the spare bedroom. I don't leave mine alone long enough for the casket.

I have 8 guitars and I have them all hanging on the wall. I have learned over the years that hanging them on the wall helps keep the neck from warping due to the string pressure pulling on it. Sure I have to dust them off a couple times a week, but they look alot better than a bunch of pictures hanging on the wall. Not only do I have easy, quick access, I have guitar art.

THANKS FOR ALL THE REPLIES, I WILL CONTINUE TO KEEP IT IN THE CASE. FOR SOME REASON IT BOTHERS ME TO OPEN IT UP EVERYTIME I WANT TO PLAY IT. I HAVE A ACOUSTIC ON A STAND THAT I ALWAYS REACH FOR BUT, ITS NOT THE SAME. I WOULD RATHER KEEP THE TELE SAFE AND SOUND. THANKS AGAIN.

It all depends on what you like....
