I guess I am soon going to build an amp - but that does not keep me from dreaming and planning the next guitar :D I've been thinking about the Nashville MIM . Most because it is possible to get it with an ash body and a rosewood fingerboard. And I think the TexMex pickups are good ! I missed one in a bidding round. That made me think : The Baja is considered good. Good pups,S1-switch, and an ash body. Only thing wrong for me there , is the neck. I don't want another maple neck/fingerboard . (I really love them, but I've got a few -and would like to test out something new)
Then I watched ebay , and realized there were many guitar bodies , often loaded . Like this one:

That kind of turned me on - what if I buy one of those, and bought a neck with RW fingerboard ?
I think that would be great !
Here is my questions to you , guys : Does this Baja require some special-measure neck - or will all tele-necks fit ? ( I know about - the '72 deluxe is out . 3 bolts, if I remember it right ? And some newer deluxe necks are also a bit different ?)
Is it stupid to buy original Fender -parts in this case ? It will still be nothing more than a partsocaster-- a bastard  But I guess - about the price of a new.....
Any opinions would be appreciated 8)

I see you have discovered The Stratosphere.

The Stratosphere buys brand new (and used) Fender guitars, disassembles them, and sells the parts for more than the original guitar cost in one piece.

Yes, any 4-bolt Tele neck will fit any 4 bolt Tele body.

So if you pair this neck

http://www.ebay.com/itm/Vintage-60s-RI- ... 98446#shId

with the body you show

http://www.ebay.com/itm/LOADED-Fender-C ... 2ec1de737d

your cost will be $339.99 + $50 (shipping to Norway) + $449.99 + $69 (shipping to Norway) = $908.98 plus any added taxes and insurance which will probably bring the cost up to well over $1000. Street price of a complete Classic Player Baja is $800 plus about $200 shipping (from the US) and taxes.

You will then end up with a genuine Fender partscaster with NO WARRANTY. Is that what you really want to do?

No - I don't think I really want to do that :( It did not look quite that tempting that way. Your wisdom is great ,as always ,Bill  Besides that - I am so incredibly satisfied with the ones I have - so I am not really in a hurry there . More like GAS

Burning more for that amp - build ! Reading and considering . Think I'll soon make a jump into it
