Well, I went to a nearby GC during my lunch and got these. I figured having a subway sandwich, should do some extra walking to GC and this is what I ended up with.

Fender American Standard Tele Limited Edition in rubbed satin oil finish, Ash Body and a Electro Harmonix Crying Tone Wah pedal.

What a cool looking tele! Congrats!

Also, how is that wah pedal working out? I was really curious about the "bottom-less" EHX platform, but I wasn't sure how well it would do its thing.

Thanks! I was also skeptical about this EH crying tone way, but after hearing it first hand, I said "SOLD". I was paying for the tele and happened to see the wah and asked if I could try it out with my new tele and I was totally blown away. They gave me a great deal on it also, $65 and it was selling for $87.

Good lord, that is gorgeous! Rubbed oil finish, you say? Neat! And good to see it doesn't have a ridiculous tummy cut on that beautiful body. Colour me jealous!

Very pretty! Not bad for a lunch time buy. Though more expensive than the Subway Sandwich!

Yep, those lunchtime trips to guitar stores can be dangerous.

I had much the same experience you had bluesguitar65. I made a Guitar Center run to buy strings and saw the FSR hand rubbed amber HSH Strat and the more traditional Tele. The Tele won me over instantly.

I had already bought a 2012 American Standard, the one with the heinous contour :) and Custom Shop pickups but I couldn't resist taking the hand rubbed home. I justified it by the body being contour free and it having the earlier Alnico V American Tele pickups.

So congrats on yours and since it doesn't exist without pics, here are a couple of outdoor shots of mine.

BG65...So you go to lunch, have a GAS attack and find a temporary cure! Nice looking Tele, and that body has some beautiful grain to it, and I like the oil rubbed finish. 8)

I think I need to go and have lunch where you do!

I got hit by the same GAS attack on a lunch run. American Special Strat with the same finish. It had just come off the truck with a matching P-bass. Thisll be git #9 after I sold off other gits to get down to 8... Just when you think youre out they PULL YA BACK IN!!

Yappari, pics to follow. (its on layaway, so lets not hold our breath)

Anyway, Ive got a MIM FSR butterscotch blonde tele with vintage brass saddles. Used to think IT was one of the best looking (reasonably priced) teles I had ever seen. Yours has easily knocked it off its perch. I still love mine, but yours is da bidness!

Could you do me a favor and tell me what format the serial number is on your guitar? like, US12 ****** or US12*****, or US12******. I just picked up a used guitar and I'm thinking it's the same model as this one...
