I have a Tele maple neck with green stamped on neck reading 3 22 017 B
Does the 7 represent 1970 or 1967 leftover neck? Just curious

Would you think this neck has any additional value due to the 1967 leftover stamp?

thinking about using neck with a new body. Bought tele in 1976 walking halls in high school. My friend routed out original body with a pair of Gibson "T buckets" - 1969ish. So I do have a complete guitar but either plan to sell as parts or rebuild with new body and existing parts.

t buckets are Gibson dual humbuckers w/ a "t" stamped on top - dates these pickups to 1969

A good luthier/repair person could fix the original body by filling the humbucker routs with the correct type of wood and re-routing back to proper Telecaster routs. That would mean that you'd have the original body/neck together. It would not be "all original" and you would maybe have to have a more solid colour finish, but would be closer to "original" than an aftermarket body. :)

I have the exact numbers on my tele neck. I believe when they create the rough piece of wood they date it and number it for the guitar it's to be used on. 3 22 017 B
3 tele 22 lot number 017 jan 67 B neck width. This piece of wood could sit a couple years before its pulled from stock and machined into a neck that's how it ends up in a guitar assembled from 1968 until 1971. So what dates the neck the time of assembly or the time the rough piece of wood was prepped but not machined into shape. After hours of research the neck date does not mean the assembly into a guitar date. My necks dated jan 67 the mounting plate numbers are 1970 and on the back of the neck that mounts in the pocket there is a F with the number 71 under the bottom horizontal line of the F so I believe all these various parts used on a 1971 guitar could of been made over a 4 year period. Their all in bins an employee grabs parts out of bins and assembles a guitar. My idea has as much credence as any other, it's all fender voodoo stuff.
