I have just purchased a 2012 Am Deluxe Tele.

Whilst I absolutely love the look of the guitar, the feel of the neck and the sound, I can't help but notice my fingers dragging on the rosewood board when I bend. It's as if the wood is really dry and causes friction. I oiled the fretboard with lemon oil, but I can still feel friction, which slows my bends and creates a really jerky movement.

The rosewood is smooth but it has a slightly dull shade (as opposed to lively and bright).

This is the first time I experience this phenomenon on a rosewood fretboard. I have a Les Paul, PRS 305 and in the past had a 62 Vintage American - all with rosewood boards, but very smooth feel.

Anyone else come across this?

The last Strat I owned had that problem. I hadn't played for
a long time, so I thought it was just me needing more time
to get my 'chop' back (yes, I only have one). Turns out, it
was probably the same thing you are talking about. My issue
was having trouble with sticking and roughness when I slid
up and down the fretboard. I solved my problem by trading it
in for a maple fingerboard. Shoulda got that in the first place
cuz I have always loved them.
