Several years ago I had an Andy Summers style Tele made (with some differences like an afterburner pre-amp, mid-range "scoop" tone pot and 5 way switch for coil tapping and pickup mixing).

I've been playing it for a few days now and I find it to be a very versitile little guitar. The guitar sounds great for jazz, blues, country and rock.

Some of music that I've been playing lately:
Cream
Blind Faith
The Police
and Christian bands

I basically haven't had to pickup another guitar.

I'm a big Strat fan, but Teles are great guitars. :D

Every Fender fan needs a good Strat and a good Tele. I have 4 Strats (2 Fenders, one short scale Squier, and a Harmony) and 2 Teles. I also have a Modern Player Marauder. Now I want a Jaguar and a Jazzmaster to complete the Fender family.

What's the Marauder like?

It's awesome. The quality isn't far off from USA Fenders. It is very versatile. The triplebucker in humbucker mode is nasty and sounds good for metal. The triplebucker mode isn't much different from the humbucker mode, it is a little darker and muddier and the highs are less pronounced. The triplebucker in single coil mode is ice picky. The Jazzmaster pickup is smooth and hollow sounding and sounds great with the tone rolled off. The position between the Jazzmaster pickup and the single coil mode triplebucker is about what you would expect.

The guitar is beautiful. Mine is Lake Placid Blue. The fit and finish are perfect, and the frets are nice and even. The knobs and switches are high quality. The tremolo is as good as the tremolos on my Mexican Strats. The woodgrain on the neck and headstock is gorgeous.

It looks like a surf guitar but it's a heavy metal machine. It's a wolf in sheep's clothing. But it also can be mellow and smooth. The triplebucker is very nice, but the Jazzmaster pickup steals the show.

My brother (Accusednut69) likes the Marauder better than any of my other guitars, including an '80s Japanese '50s Tele and several Mexican Fenders. I don't pick favorites, but this one is up there with all my guitars.
