Hi!
This topic has probably been overcooked, but i was wondering what is the best type of hanger for a tele. the one's i use for my strat seems to wide and as the head stock on the tele is narrow i just don't want to hear the dreaded bump in the night :(
Any suggestions?

I use the "Off the Wall" hangers and since the swivel a bit they accomodate all headstock shapes...I have had an Esquire haning from one for over 15 years and it has never gone bump in the night! Whether those are the best or not I can't say as they are the only ones I have ever used!

I have had excellent luck with String Swing guitar hangers, reasonably priced and easy to install. I have about twenty on the walls of my Music Room.

You can swivel these a bit as Teles hang differently than Strats and you can bend the prongs together a bit, too, if necessary. The covering is inert and does not react in any way to any guitar finish.

I have two Hercules wall hangers for my classicals. Because I have the space on the floor, my electrics stay on Hercules floor stands-I know I'm being silly, but I don't like the idea of the heavy bodies pulling down on the necks.

They are good hangers, and because they have the Specially Formulated Foam, they do not react with and alter my guitar's finish. I have never had any problems with these hangers, and find them very easy to move the guitars in and out of.

This is their website:

I've used Hercules guitar hangers for my acoustic, my bass, my strat, and for a tele i used for a bit, worked perfectly. It swivels from side to side a bit so it suits any headstocks (very useful for strat and tele headstocks), never had it go loose, its been up for over 5 years now.
