I have a 2002 52 reissue tele and last night I was doing a setup. When removing the neck to adjust the truss rod, my hand slipped and it resulted in a small paint chip by the neck joint. I am sooooooo pissed about this. I've taken such stellar care of that guitar for 10 years. Through gigs, and hours of playing time I had kept it in pristine condition. It's making me mental. Am I completely insane? I hope I can get used to it being there. Is there any way to touch up butterscotch blonde finish?

If you have the paint chip, you can glue it back on, which at least minimises the damage!
Or see if you can find a nail varnish close to the colour, and drop fill.

No, I would feel the same. Though that may mean I am insane as well.
I've never attempted to fix something like that (luckily never had to!)..others in this Forum have and may chime in.

I used to worry over things like that too, but things like that happen. Now I look at it as adding to the character and history of the guitar, it personalizes it a bit. You could pick it out of a line up of look a likes.
It's your guitar, would you really seriously consider parting with it over a ding? Probably not, so accept it and continue forth.

My friend, I would suggest leaving it alone!

I have 15 GTARS that are a mix of Fender and Gibson all made in the sweet ol US of A!!

I had a moment where my guitar stand fell onto the control knobs on my Gibson SG 61RI and caused an indentation on the knobs. Initally I thought replace them, but like my other keepers that have little ID tags on them. I think of those scars as what was I thinking at the time.

They are reminders to me of what I was thinking at the time no matter how the wound occurred on the axe!

My opinion leave it alone because that scar is yours and yours alone, something nobody else will own!
