hi guys,

I have a 2010 AM standard telecaster all original, today I was reading something about Delta Tone and wondering if it boosts the signal when is on 10 so I decide try check it on my guitar using a multimeter measuring directly on the cable.
I was surprised to see that the neck pickups is about 7,6 K and bridge(which I supposed to be higher), measured only 6,5K.
Is it right for 2010 AM Standard Teles??? or something is wrong on my guitar??

tks

It is right and proper, not just for your model but for all 'standard' type Tele pickup combos. It is a widespread error where too many players cling to the notion of a pickup's DC resistance as being 'the' reading which ultimately determines a pickup's output. This cannot be further from the truth as there are many more factors involved.

A "Delta Tone" circuit is a passive circuit. Meaning, it can not add anything to a pickup's tonality or output that is not already there. Rather, by dialing down, it can only take away from it.

Simplified, a "Delta Tone" is a ganged tone pot where the secondary pot increases the resistance beyond the primary, thus "squeezing" out more inherent frequencies than a one value tone pot is capable of. Again, these frequencies are already there. FWIW, quite similar conditions can be duplicated with a single, much higher than 'normal' resistance tone pot. For example, OEM is 250K ohms; replace it with a 1,000K (meg) ohm pot.
