Hey guys- I was wondering if anyone can tell me how to measure the output on the neck pu on my early nineties mim standard. I'm ordering a stacked 'bucker for the bridge soon and need to know the output so I can buy it to closely match, as I dont want a huge diff in volume when switching. Thanks

Output is millivolts and resistance are ohms. What do you want to know ? Probably resistance ? Specs never gives millivolts IMO

You should use multimeter on ohms scale ,plug your guitar wire in your guitar output jack and with your meter test probe touching the + and - of the other en of the guitar wire you can read how many ohms , thousand ohms ( K ohms ) your pickup have.

Be sure to switch this pickup first.

Wire resistance is only one factor that affects sound output. You can be almost sure that even if you bought a humbucking pickup (either stacked or PAF-type) that exactly matched the wire resistance of your single coil, that the humbucker will sound noticeably louder than the single coil.

+1 bluesky636 ,

-And different magnets with same coil resistance give not the same output.

- Bigger or smaller wire pickup coil could have same resistance but not same output.

And ............

Not easy to chose pickup without earing it
