Ok guys I'm new here. What first brought me here was a pawn shop score of a 1978 usa telecaster. Everthing checks out. I got it for 250 out the door. It wasn't even on the floor yet and the guy had no idea what he had obviously. Anyways while doing some research I discovered that an old body I had lying around was what I belive to be an early 50's tele fender bigsby. Pretty cool. All the markings are gone but the jack cup was still in it and low and behold, It's a chrome plated brass ridged press in cup. Maybe one of you guys can confirm this for me. I inherited this years ago along with a bunch of other junk from my Uncle who also gave me a '72 tele custom(made in '76 I believe) It's trashed but he bought it new back in the day. He recieved the body from another friend who passed away along with a framus hollywood with sliding pickup. Mine now. NOW, you guys are gonna kill me. I thought this thing was garbage and almost threw it away many times. about 15 years ago I bought a new tool that had a router in it and wanted to try it out on something and guess what? I chose the old tele body as my test source. Nice right? It's still solid but I routed the edges off of the front and back. It actually looks good but probably killed the value, whatever that may be. Somebody give me some expert info please! Here's a couple pics of the body and the '78.[img][/img][img][/img][img][/img]

Why is it that I'm never lucky enough to find a '78 Tele for $250? I'm considering buying one right now...but I'll have to pay $1,500 for it.

You might be the luckiest dude I know (well, I don't really know you). Congrats and best of luck with it!

I don't know what the rules are on here but I put it on craigslist this morning for Cincinnati. I am willing to part with it for a fair price. Not 250 but fair lol
