There is an ad online for a Fender Telecaster 1983 MIJ "SQ Series" Bullet, but I don't know if it is worth $450.

"Selling a very rare Fender "SQ Series" Telecaster - Squier Bullet.

Features:

Vintage SQ Series
Made by Fender Japan in 1983
Original Body & Neck
Original Pick Guard
Original Fender Japan Tuners
New USA Made 3 way switch
All New Wiring and improved solder joints
New Stereo Input Jack and wiring
New Custom Made Bone Nut
New Wilkinson Steel Bridge & Saddles
Frets have been crowned and polished
The guitar has been professionally set up and intonated
Rare Candy Apple Red Color with "Double Binding" in aged Creme color
One of the most "punchiest" sounding Tele's that I have played

You'll have to trust me when I say that this Tele plays better than most USA made Telecasters. I have Compared side by side with many great USA made & Mexican made
Tele's and this one is much "punchier" than all the one's that I compared with. It has that precise Tele Twang / Vintage Tone & Punch that you would like very much. This is
why I bought this guitar 3+ years ago.

5 months ago I spent about $300 to have this guitar improved tremendously. My friends all urge me not to sell her, but I need the cash."

Serial no. is SQ45986. When I looked the no. up, it said it is an '86 guitar. Don't know if that was a typo in the ad or not. I called him and I think he said it was from '86 as well, so don't think he is hiding anything.

if he spent $300 'upgrading' it, its no longer a 'super duper mega awesome rare squier', its just a squier that somebody has messed about with.

doesnt say he changed the pickups, which may or may not be a bad thing.

Are Bullets the lesser version of Squires?
And also, what constitutes a 'rare' MIJ 80s Squire?
