Post subject: how to raise the action on my American Tele Bridge for slide

I am interested in what it would entail to raise the action, to set my Tele up for slide work.Anyone got tips or...?

You could put a pencil under the strings at the first or second fret. Of course you couldn't play open notes, but the strings would be much higher. :) I wouldn't bother raising the bridge saddles.

Best to learn to play slide with a light touch and/or use heavier strings.

Brilliant. Why didn't I think of that? Of course, since most slide players use open tunings, that might be a bit of a problem. Tuning could be a little tricky too. Hopefully you don't stab yourself on the pointy end. :roll:
