Well, I was pretty much over the highway 1 body and bigsby. I don't really like the bigsby, It's always in the way of the control plate, a problem compounded by the fact I have the control plate reversed so I'm always fishing for it under the term arm. Even then, I just wasn't using it much at all. It's a heavy unit and the highway 1 body is pretty darn heavy anyhow... the guitar weighs as much as my Les Paul as is so I'm hoping this will lighten things up.

Soooo... I ordered up a body from MJT. Closet clean, it's alder, routed for a humbucker in the neck, LPB finish with some yellowing, no finish checking... should be sweet!

I'm just swapping over all the hardware, pups and electronics as is (though I had to buy a new bridge obviously) I'm using one of those Acme Toneshapers for the electronics, a very cool little unit which adds to the switching options which is nice. I'd definitely checking them out if you're interested in something a little different. You can switch all the pot values so they match up to either the hum bucker or single coil, change cap values, add the equivalent of the "grease bucket" circuitry fender uses, etc.

Anyhow, just thought I'd share. I'll get some photos up once she arrives, I know how everyone likes photos around here! 8)

At long last... she arrived last night and I was able to get it all put together and set up last evening. Looks gorgeous, plays great, and sounds fantastic... kudos to the all folks at MJT for a job well done! The body and neck are both MJT, the electronics are ToneShaper for tele with a 5-way switch, Fralin pickups, a modified bridge, graphite nut... SWEET! I'll try to get a video up soon so you can hear it, but here are a few pictures.
