i'm no expert but the string trees, jack socket, and lack of string through body ness (to use technical terminology) are suspect to me..

Hi boomboom

Comparing it to my 2009 sunburst Highway 1 tele the following look wrong:

Bridge
No of frets
Input jack
string trees
Logo
No through body stringing
Tuners
Finish ? Looks glossy to me should be satin
Neck plate

I would suggest you stay away has alarm bells ringing what price are thy asking?

i was playing my mates highway 1 last night, im pretty sure it had a walnut truss rod plug aswell. it only had 1 roller string tree, and everything that guy above said. this is a seriously wrong guitar, look elsewhere.

I'll add my voice to the chorus saying "fake" - it looks like a fairly low-end copy with faked Fender decals.

Issues I see:

1. Truss rod access is wrong - as others have said non-reissue USA Fenders have a walnut plug with a small hole to adjust the truss rod. Only some Asian imports (Korea, Indonesia, etc.) have that plain access hole; MIM Fenders have a black plastic plug.

2. Non-reissue USA Fenders use the roller style string tree; this one has the vintage-style butterfly string trees.

3. That style of tuner was not used on any USA Fender; just MIJ ones.

4. That style headstock decal was used on American Standards until 1995; then it was used on MIM Fenders until say 2006 or so. It was never used on a Highway 1 Fender.

5. Highway 1 Fenders have 22-fret necks.

6. Fender has never used that style of bridge - their 3-saddle bridge has raised sides; their bridges with flat sides have 6 saddles.

7. Very few Fender Teles have top-loading bridges - vintage ones from around 1959 or so (a one or two year change), the 1983-84 USA-built Standards, and the very first of the MIM Standards in the 1990s (for maybe 4-5 years on that one); the 1983-84 USAs and the 1990s MIMs both had 6-saddle bridges.
