I have a inexpensive Douglas Tele that I was thinking of converting to an Esquire. I looked at Phostenix wiring diagrams which are helpful, but was wondering if someone could tell me what the 3way switch actually does on an Esquire, and is there an easy way to convert the wiring with using only what I find when I open up the Douglas. In other words is there an easy way to do it.
Thanks

The Phostex diagrams are self explanatory. Each one has a description of what each switch position does. I suggest you reread them in detail.

Without knowing what kind of switch you have in your guitar (CRL, Oak-Grigsby, or cheap import), it is impossible to tell you how to wire your guitar. As far as there being an easy way to do it, there certainly is - follow the wiring diagram of your choice.

Know what? What is the problem? Did you bother to read my post above? We have no way of knowing what switch you have installed in your guitar. The Phostex diagrams that were linked to tell you exactly what each switch position does. It can't be any clearer than that. If you can't figure out how to do it from what has been posted, you have no business even opening up your guitar.
