I have a 69 fender telecaster that I know some parts are not original on as it has been fitted with an Ibinez Super 80 'Flying Fingers' Humbucker.

I just wondered if anyone can tell if the other components have been changed or not?

Here are some pics

Bridge pickup:

The sticker says: Kent Armstrong, REWORKED, Spec. 8.5 KT .063

Neck pickup and neck date? MAY 69? I know this is not a Fender pickup but if anyone knows anything about them that would be great. Ever seen one on a Tele before?

Pots and switches etc:

The writing on both pots says: 1M(ohm)LN RTC DIAB CTS

The brigde plate:

Any info much appreciated, just want to know what is original and what is not?

If the sticker on the bridge pickup says "Kent Armstrong" then I'd say its probably a Kent Armstrong pickup :D

Otherwise the pots look original and so does the "Fender" stamped bridge plate but then you can also get these separately from just about any Fender dealer or online.

I think the original bridge pickup was just rewound by kent armstrong.

he used to do that kind of thing early on. Thats why it says reworked and gives the resistance rating then the guage of wire that was used.

I emailed some pictures over to Kent Armstrong himself and got a nice email back saying that he can confirm that he himself did indeed rewind the pickup to its original spec.

So that solves that part at least.
