I have a 52 RI...I find that the neck pickup (lipstick), is somewhat noisy, compared to the bridge pickup (and yes it went to the shop).

Has anyone had this issue?
Any solutions?
Has anyone replaced it and with what?
Any thoughts on replacing the vintage lipstic with a humbucker?

Thanks

Try shielding the cavities with copper foilding or shielding paint.
Ground the chrome cover with a ground wire.
You could go for noiseless, rail or stacked pu's.
The vintage hotrod has a Seymour Duncan mini-bucker, read some
great reviews about it.

Thanks Peter.
My Tele just came back from the shop and it seems that the noise seems to be almost gone...
I will definitely have a look at the mini-bucker.

Would you know what Fender uses for the 52 RI?

Regards,
Georges

Hello Georges,

On the vintage '52 fender uses American vintage Tele Single-coil pu's.

Hence the noise of the 50's...
Do you think its worth it to put in the mini-bucker?

I would like it if it gives a warmer/darker/hotter sound and tone...

Try a Vintage Hotrod out if you have access to one.
The neck pu cavity needs to be routed out to make room for the
mini-humbucker.

I like it so I put the mini-bucker in the bridge position.
