Hey guys (and girls) I'm just wondering if anyone knows how long it takes to get a replacement guitar from Fender, also if I am getting an american guitar as the replacement is it coming straight from the factory, or is it coming from a warehouse.
Thanks.

I can't answer your question about how long it takes, but I suspect that a replacement guitar would come from the warehouse - assuming they have the replacement in stock.

That could impact your wait time - if they don't have any replacements in stock then you'll have to wait until they produce another run of your guitar. For example, if you need a natural finish, maple fingerboard American Standard as the replacement guitar and Fender doesn't have any in the warehouse, then you might have to wait until they run the next batch at the factory that meets your specs.

I suppose if Fender doesn't have the replacement in their own warehouse they could also reach out to a large retailer that they have a strong relationship with (I'm thinking someone like Guitar Center/Musician's Friend) that has a big inventory to get you a replacement.

+1 JohnC (of course!)

Josh, U.S. guitars are manufactured in our factory in Corona, Calif.
All of them are distributed from our Distribution Center in Ontario, Calif.....20-30 miles away.
JohnC is on the right track, it all depends on if there is stock available, and when the next run will be if there is no stock. If it is a defective replacement we do have a way of prioritzing these in our system so the replacements get top priority regardless of when those orders are placed.
The scenario of us going to a dealer, although HAS been done......is very very rare mainly because simply stated its an accounting and audit nightmare for everyone.
Also, because we are a Business to Business (Bto B) our tracking shows proprietary dealer information (or Service Center info) and there is normally no reference to a consumer. So if its a lead time on a specific order, I really recommend getting with your dealer or service center and asking them to get you a lead time/expect date. We can usually provide an approximate lead time.
Hope that helps a bit.

Best regards,
(and thanks as always JohnC)

Rob - not trying to steal your thunder, and you're welcome. It makes business sense to not get one from a retailer but I thought perhaps that someone like Guitar Center/Musician's Friend might be so closely tied in to your inventory that one earmarked for them but still in your warehouse could be "diverted". However, while I do have a graduate business degree it's obviously not in Accounting (and that Accounting class from 27 years ago didn't stick  ) or I would have thought of the audit nightmare that would created by doing what I suggested.

Why is Fender sending you a replacement guitar? I didn't know they did that.

Taylor replaced my 110 Accustic due to a factory defect in one of thier necks.
