Hi all,

I hit one of those "milestone" birthdays last week and decided to treat myself to a Tele. I've had a love/hate thing with the Tele over the years - I've tried out a '50s Classic, an AV '52, and even an American Series (although I really did get that one only for an attempt at playing slide), plus a couple of very different G&L ASATs but none have stuck around.

So I took the plunge again with a Select Tele (sorry for photos - it appears our camara isn't that great):

So how does she sound? Well, it has been a while since I had a Tele of any kind (about 4 years) but it has most of the traditional Tele twang. I would say it's a bit of a "polite" Tele due to the maple top and the chambering, but it will respond well to grit. The neck feels like an American Deluxe neck, very nice satin finish on mine (and a nicer birdseye figuring than any Ernie Ball/Music Man I've ever owned). Still early, I'm in the honeymoon phase on this one. It's definitly a nice change of pace from my other electric - a Collings 290 which is very similar to a Les Paul Special (mahagony set-neck guitar with soapbar pickups).

John C...That is one sweet looking Tele! That one rates a Holy Schmokes on the T2 scale! If it sounds half as good as it looks, you'll be keeping and playing that one for a long time!

T2

Thanks all!!

I think I saw your's when you posted it a while back; its is very nice and the gold hardware looks really great on it. I'm just too hard on gold hardware (fairly acidic sweat) so I figured I'd just stick with the nickle/chrome (and also have the locking tuners).

Thanks!

Sorry, my original "photo shoot" didn't turn out very well - these were the best of the bunch. I'll try to shoot some more over the weekend and put them up.
