I just bought a mim Standard Tele, ash body. The b string buzzes like crazy at the bridge saddle, so I put a new set of string savers saddles on it and the problem is just as bad if not worse. any ideas?

Welcome.

Premising your B string is not set too low and sight unseen, believe it or not, your problem is probably at the nut. While sounding the B string, push down on it beyond the nut and before the string tree. If the buzz goes away, then it is definitely at the nut which is cut incorrectly.

Yup you are right. I don't hear as well as I used to so couldn't really tell right off. I pressed on the string like you said but the buz didn't go away ontill I pulled it slightly to the left as you are facing the guitar. The buz went away. so I guess I need a new nut right?

Not necessarily. The slot may still be salvageable with a bit of finesse contouring. Take it to a pro for this though. Any amateurish 'work' done to it such as one swipe in the wrong direction or a swipe too deep and guaranteed, you will be needing a new nut.

It could just be that the string tree is set too high and not giving enough down pressure behind the nut.

If you can, lower it.
