Bassetts. Glad you experienced bad workmanship that Fender took care of.
Good to know. Fender told me that guitars that are bought new carry a lifetime warranty,
but the warranty is never transferrable to a second party. Fender will warranty all amps
for five years and will accept ownership transfers along with the original dealer receipt.
I got my red double bound Telecaster last month. No problems with the paint/binding.
I will double check the binding & paint next time it's plugged in. Toppscore :)

From the seller, custom shop owner:

1960s Fender American Reissue Solid Body * I believe 2005-2008 50th Limited.
This guitar is constructed around the FENDER LIMITED EDITION 1960s CUSTOM TELECASTER
DOUBLE BOUND BODY WITH FENDER "F" (BIGSBY) TAIL AND 6 SADDLE ADJUSTABLE BRIDGE.
THE BODY IS IN CANDY APPLE RED GLOSS FINISH with Double Sided White Binding.
“Custom” = Hoagland Brothers Wiring Harness
“Custom” = CTS pots - new and will need to be broken in - will loosen up with use
“Custom” = SWITCHCRAFT JACK
FENDER TUNING MACHINES
“Custom” = SEYMOUR DUNCAN STL - 52 (FIVE-TWO) BRIDGE PICKUP
“Custom” = SEYMOUR DUNCAN STR - 1 NECK PICKUP
BOTH PICKUPS DESIGNED FOR UNBELIEVABLE CLASSIC & MODERN Telecaster VARIATIONS.
NICE USED TWEED CASE INCLUDED
“Custom” = Fender Neck = Fender licensed special radius order
Neck did not come with butterfly guides
CUSTOM MADE FLAME MAPLE NECK w/12" RADIUS (flat)
21 Fret Rosewood Fingerboard

I just got it in May/ish and love the tones/sounds, but the action is too high,
there's buzzing from two strings and two strings keep popping out of the nut.
It is at the amp repair man right now.

I'm installing two sets of roller string trees, having the four-way switch
rewired to more correctly perform in/out phasing features,
and double checking the push/pull volume control correctness.
Typical new guitar stuff, but this one is heavily modified.
Could have used a better setup out of the custom shop.

Seller claims I'm the first owner/player since customized.
I like this Telecaster a whole lot. Purchased a cool padded red strap.
Will probably be a lifetime keeper after I run it throught the paces next month.
May get an un-modified Telecaster for standard Fender tones.
The goal is two Telecasters, one natural and one heavily customized.
Toppscor :)

Cheers guys and Toppscore that is a fantastic telecaster you have got there. I can't wait to hear how it is when it comes back from the shop.

Thank you for the kind words guys. Fender have been great to me

When I was playing it through the amp I noticed that the tone pot makes a "click sound at a certain point which is a little annoying. BUT to my ears it does not affect the tone of the guitar. I went up and down with it several times and didn't notice a deterioration in quality at all. I think I'll keep an eye on it and see how I go.

Violin Parent - The AC30 headphone jack looks right up my street but can I ask whether it fits in the telecaster input jack? That could be great for when my baby is asleep or the wife is fed up of hearing me play "hey joe" for the 50th time :D

Thanks again guys!

All these guitars on this forum have made me seriously want a new guitar. I thought it would end at the Deluxe! A custom shop instrument seems to be calling my name at the moment. I turn 30 next year and its got me thinking it would be a great treat!

Tom

Tom. Interesting, but I had a clicking problem with my volume pot/control.
Turns out the 1973 Retro black skirted 1-10 control knobs look great,
but the volume knob actually brushes the 4-way switch's screw head.
Weird, as I really like the black knobs, but I purchased a chrome knob
and left the black 1-10 knob on the tone control. Amazingly, it looks great.
Someday, I may sand down the edge of the black knob for a better fit.

Hi Toppscore

Good to know its just not me and to clarify for other users the clicking is not at the Master No-Load Tone Control section it comes in it is around 2 or sometimes 5. I hope this doesn't cause me problems because of what has happened already.

The things you find out on this forum!

Just makes me want to run out of work and pick up the guitar and play it until my fingers bleed.

Maybe then my playing will improve. :D

Tom

I should pickup my Telecaster today, but may wait until the two sets of pickups come in
from Guitar Fetish. Then, I can drop off the below two guitars and pickup the Telecaster.
It'll be like Christmas, come soon

http://www.guitarfetish.com/12k-True-Coil-_p_1968.html
I'm having my guitar tech install the "above-linked" high powered single-coil sized
"stacked humbucker" into the below middle "HSH" Super Stratocaster. Just got it last
month. It'll need some wiring and I'm not sure if we can split that stacked humbucker.
Also, installed is a push/pull pot for boost and some combo pickup excitement.

Also, I have a threesome set of Jimi Hendrix special wound "reverse stagger" pickups
shown in the above link to be installed within the below 2011 Left Handed Stratocaster
I just purchased. I will flip the nut, add a strap button and get the new Hendrix pickups
installed, within a week, I hope :)

Nice nice and nice! I wish I had as many fine guitars as you! I'm seriously jealous. I've got a bit of a lust for a 60s avri strat but I want to enjoy the Tele for a while first!

Just an update I picked up a vox amplug today. They didn't have the ac30 one so I picked up the classic rock model. I really like it for the price/size and although after a little gain its pretty bad. The clean and slight distortion is more than enough for my practicing needs. Thanks violin parent for the suggestion.

Thank you, Bassett. If both the hot stacked humbucker/single coil pickup
and the set of three Jimi Hendrix special wound reverse staggered pole pickups
do not arrive today, I will be jump mad as I've set an appointment for the
two surgury operations to be on Monday :D
