I may get shot down making this statement but here it is!

Today my GC called me to let me know that my 50's Roadworn blonde Tele has landed.

Upon arriving at the store I test drove the Roadworn and was very impressed. It ooooozzzzzed TONE!

After playing a few Johnny Cash numbers my GC dealer suggested to do a side by side with a 52 reissue and omg we were surprised.

The Roadworn had much greater clarity and presence on all pickups on both guitars. Overall better tone!

So I was sold on the Roadworn anyway.

At the store we installed the Black Bakelite Pickguard which I had also ordered with it. It looks awesome :P

The roadworn is very light Ash and would have to be the lightest out of my 3 Tele's.

I will post pic's in a few weeks once I pay out my Layby.

Cheers.

Awesome news KK, Its surprising how sometimes a piece of wood, no matter the quality, can come together and knock one out of the park. can't wait to see it :)

It'll be interesting to see what you think when plugged into your own amp and compared to your other teles.

It says on the product page that it has Tex-Mex pickups in it. I've done a seperate search on google shopping and can't find Tex-Mex tele pickups on there (though that doesn't mean that they can't be bought).

I look forward to seeing your photos and hearing your comments about the guitar when you get it home.

Tex mex pickups we designed for the jimmy vaughan strat. Remenber reading an article saying the only thing he changed on the stock strats were the 5 way selector back to a 3 way. They should sound sweet in a tele mate. I think vs ya am std an 52 youll find this ones a bit hotter soubding, also a bit more trebley in range. Trouble is for gigs.... which out of the three do you take? (Trick question, take all of em ;))

Not to disparage or shoot-down, but were both Teles set up? I have seen guitars play entirely different before and after a set-up. Also, having a '52 RI. it is a different animal from the Standards, etc. The wiring is different from what I have grown up with and am accustomed to in Teles. I left mine in the original wiring configuration as I want to become more familiar with it.

Regardless, I know you are looking forward to bringing her home.
