yoi know that is a precision adjustment, the string length adjustment where you pick a harmonic by litely touching the string above the 12th fret, and fret the same string at the 12 fret. the frequencys of both is the same when they are adjusted rite.evidenced on all other guitars including tele, that the 1st and 2 nd string is not the same. neither are the 3rd and 4th, and neither are the 5th ands 6th, refering to the 3 saddle piece bridges that come on new custom and very expensive guitars too i mite add, I dont understand why folks go for that particular bridge, well maybe for the brass sustain, and i know this is going to make it have a truly unique sound as the string length adjustment then is definatly a tele exclusive sound? i dunno, i go with the 6 saddle bridge myself, where's all the teletypes these days, where my model 28 go to?

I understand the apprehension that is associated with the three saddle bridge but as time goes on, even these seemingly basic and flawed pieces have been redesigned. Compensated saddles (which i'm sure you know of) make the minute differences between the string lengths basically moot. The Glendale Saddles, for example are set to get basically perfect intonation (within .1 hz) so you can now get the vintage look and brass sustain and have them intonate almost perfectly. This isn't to say that the modern 6 saddles are worse by any means. It all comes down to preference. for me it was the look and feel of the vintage bridge. The fact that i was able to get vintage style saddles that intonated right finally sold me on them. So that is the thinking behind my choice for a 3 saddle bridge. Hopefully that was some insight into the non-sensicle decision of using an imperfect design.
