this is an awemazing guitar the neck is slim and it plays extremly well the bridge humbucker can handle lots of gain and can get really heavy
and the neck humbucker delivers creamy leads the guitar can do cleans to but i play mostly death metal so i dont use cleans to much when i use clean i use the middle postion and it sounds really nice
with the contored body it is really comfrotable and the guitar is really blanced when your standing there is no neck dive at all making it really easy to play standing
there is not one sharp edge on the neck from frets overhanging nor on the bridge i got this guitar for 489 plus tax it was listed for 699 and i think i got a steal
ive played american made teles in the shop that were twice the price and did compear to the blacktop IMHO

overall the guitar is a steal and i think everyone should have one fender did a good job on this one for sure if this guitar was stolen or lost i would shoot the person that stole it and replace as soon as i could

I've just seen a great example of this on the forum, pretty good lucking guitars considering not an awful lot of character (if you get my drift). Think I'd either go black or red ;)

I think the guitar you have is more suited for your playing and genre where as, in my opinion, Fender in general make guitars to be as versatile as possible but keep hold of the classic design and morals.
The American made Teles have a good classic rock - country tone, I fell in love with one (being a bassist, quite a rareity) they have a nice ash finish but I always lack the funds :(

Anyhow, keep on rocking and thanks for the review, keep us updated :)

Looks like we have another Steve Vai in the making ;)

What's the neck like on this? Neck shape? What finish and does it get sticky?

How are you finding the pickups? Are they good for your playing style/s or would you look into changing them in the near future?

the finish is Gloss Urethane
smallish c shape i find it perfect not to big and not so small your hand are going to wrap around it 4 times and feel cramed up all and alll the neck is perfect and i dont really know if it get sticky i wipe it down before and after i play everytime

as for the pickups i find there pretty good i can get a deadly shredders tone out of it and also it can get as hevay as death metal the pickups are pretty versitial good cleans rythems and leads you can also get a good blues tone and you can still get the classic tele twang i thought of switching them but im in no hurry to they sound really good as it is im just a tone freak
im think about some dimarzios or a set of rockfields if i even bother

this guitar is so comfortable and sounds sooooooo good im after playing it all day like i said as soon as i woke up tell i went to bed

I bought one back in September and I love it. Can't seem to put it down once I start playing. Great rock guitar, I play mine through a Digitech RP350 and a little Fender FM25R and I can get any sound I want out of it. The tech at the music store I bought it from did a small neck adjustment and everything was perfect. The only changes I want to do is different string saddles and knurled chrome knobs with abalone inserts, I think they would look good. My Strat is gathering dust  .

This is a Fender Special Run, FSR, made especially for Guitar Center.
