Not too long ago I bought a 2007 ADT. I had wanted one for a long time but had decided several years ago that I was never going to be able to afford one so I just stopped looking. A couple of weeks ago, I just happend to see this one at GC for a good price. Gas took over and I bought it. I didn't know what year it was so after getting it home, I started reading the forum to see what information I could find. It was then that I found out about the changes that had been made in 2010. I'm pretty insecure so I started worrying that the new one would be much better and mine was obsolete and probably not the good deal I originally thought. All this did not happen over night but the more I fretted, (both kinds) the more I needed to find out how much difference in playability and sound that there really was. Today, I found out. I took my guitar down to GC and I got a brand new one off the shelf, went into a little room and proceeded to compare for about an hour through a Deluxe Reverb (that's what I have at home). Other than the Physical difference (locking tuners) that you can see, i didn't find much difference. I am a novice so I'm sure there are nuances that I would never notice. The compound radius on the fret board meant absolutely nothing to me. If anything, I think mine barred a little easier on the high end and bending didn't seem any different. Tonewise, I think mine won. They both had a very wide range of tones but the 2007 seemed to be able to produce slightly more mellowness if you wanted it to and I did not see any noise in either. The N3s may have had a little more twang if that's what you like. I'm writing this not to badmouth the 2112 in any way what so ever but rather to say that if you see a good pre 2010 model don't be afraid to buy it. Remember, the sound is in the ear of the beholder. Somebody had asked way back if anyone had compared the two. Well for whatever a novice opinion is worth, there it is. I'm really happy with mine. Teles forever

Well I just happen to be sitting here listening to the album...I couldn't help myself.

Long live The Holy Triumvirate...

Funstamper, glad you got over your buyer's remorse. But, GAS is never satisfied...
