I got a Jim Adkins Tele a few months back that sounded so sweet in the neck pickup but the upper frets badly buzzed without having to raise the bridge so far it was uncomfortable to play. My local music store got another one in that played well, but after having it a while, I noticed the neck pickup sounded awfully dark. It was inspected in June 2010

According to the online specs, the neck pup is supposed to be the Seymour Duncan Vintage P90-1n, which is a brighter, vintage sound. What I found in there was labeled a P90-3n, which is the Custom P-90, which is much hotter and has a darker sound, which I DON'T want. Unfortunately, there was no sticker on the bridge pickup other than a red dot, supposedly to indicate that it's for the bridge, but I'm assuming it's the Custom P90-3b (that is standard for the bridge position) since the dimensions are the same with the neck pup.

Where is the quality control, Fender? I realize you have to offshore almost ALL your work to keep your profits up, but when crap like this comes out, it does nothing but dilute your brand and your good will. Also, taking the company public is NOT a good move. The company will be acquired and you can figure out the rest.

I will contact Fender and ask them what to do.
