The colour is a hand applied mahogany stain with a thin satin lacquer over it. The body is ash.

UKR...now that sure does rate a Holy Schmokes :!: What a great looking body, love the grain on that...didn't use to like the satin finish, but that one got to me :!: :!:

I just purchased mine. great sounding and looking gear. One question: where did you register it? on fender.com/prodreg you can't choose the FSR Mahogany model...
Thanks

I suspect you would have to select "American Standard Tele" from the list - Fender will know it's one of the FSRs by the serial number itself.

Hi silviu

Although the model is not listed in the drop down list you can enter the model of your guitar manually something like Fender FSR Hand Stained American Standard Telecaster, Maple fretboard, Mahogany Stain would probably surfice. The model number was 017-8202-786. Then enter your serial number and complete the other registration boxes and that should be that. In the list of registered items however there will not be a picture of the model as there is when you register a current model.

hope this helps

I am picking up this guitar from GC today, but it's not Mahogany.. it's stained Amber, which I cannot find a single thread anywhere online about it. It's the same model, Ash with the Limited Edition on the neck plate. Everything is the same and as told by the sales person at GC, there are only 250 made as well. Has anyone seen this model? Or familiar with it? There are 250 tele, strat ad P-bass models made from my understanding. I will post pics after I get it home after work.

That's very beautiful, but I've never known Mahogany to have a such wide grain. It reminds me more of Ash. Keep in mind that I'm not a wood guy, so I have pretty limited knowledge on the subject.
